I had breakfast with Ed Sim yesterday (which I was late for because I was got a #$!@#$%#% speeding ticket - my fault). I sat down and Ed said "congratulations on the CNet thing," and I think the WTF look on my face was evident because he quickly followed up by telling me that both our blogs had been selected for the CNet "Top 100" blogs site.
Of course it's always nice to be recognized, but I have to say that I'm really honored to be included in this group because of who else is on this list, including Mike Masnick, Michael Arrington, Anita Campbell, Bill Burnham, Steve Rubel, Scoble (who like Madonna and various rap artists no longer requires a first and last name), Kim Cameron, Om Malik, and of course Ed Sim.
Having said all that I would remiss in not also saying that you should take this "top 100" list with a grain of salt because for every blog listed here that are countless that should be listed (Siliconbeat?) The thing about blogs is that they are antithetical to the notion of top down consolidation, but for those with the curiousity this list will lead you to thousands of interesting blogs you should read.

That is the question CNET News.com is attempting to answer with our first Blog 100 list. This effort adds to products such as News.com Blogs, Extra, My News, TalkBack, Newsburst, and Blogma, in which News.com editors and reporters are helping find the best news and views on the Web for the convenience of our readers.
Congratulations, bud. You're in my Top 10.
