Whadayathink? I think TimesSelect is going to bomb, not spectacularly but over the long run as the NYTimes comes to terms with the reality that their content isn't coveted and they are suboptimizing revenue by walling it off. Smart online businesses are opening up content and reducing the roadblocks to pageviews.

Come Monday, Sept. 19, fans of New York Times columnists Maureen Dowd, Paul Krugman, and David Brooks will have to break out their credit cards. Sept. 19 is the launch date of TimesSelect, a new subscription service designed to diversify the newspaper's revenue stream beyond traditional Web site advertising.
I'll miss them....... especially Maureen Dowd, but I won't pay.
