Comcast broadband has really been shitty for the last 2 weeks, lot's of outages. With the growing popularity of VoIP (indeed, Comcast itself is a VoIP provider) this is a serious issue, not only can't you use the web/email, but you can't use your phone when your broadband connection goes down.
I'd complain to Comcast... but that would just be an added amount of frustration I don't need.

I live in the east coast and have been suffering similar crap from comcast. I changed my dns servers to something I found on dslreports and saw immediate performance improvement. You might want to poke around and note alternate dns servers in case the problem resurfaces.
One shouldnt have to resort this type of workaround especially the exorbitant amount they charge but theres nothing really one can do, right? (Its not like I get DSL service here)

I did the same thing - using 4.2.2.1 as my primary DNS now. Hopefully this will do the trick.
