Hi Jeff,

your only option at this time is to use an external search, like Google.

You can add a new typelist, with the name "Site Search" for example, and put the code into the Notes. No link title or url. Then you must configure it to display the notes as text.

Here is the TypePad Resource for it: http://www.typepad.com/resources/2003/08/adding_google_s.html

If you have an AdSense account, you can also get AdSense enabled search which allows you to tailor the look of the resulting Google page a little bit. You can try it out on my blog at http://owt.typepad.com/blog/ on the right side.

Greetings from Germany.

Alas that you did not have this a few days ago when I was searching for an ML article you posted in April...

Thanks!

jeff

yeah, no kidding. You can't imagine how many times I've said to myself "didn't I write something about such-and-such a while back" and then struggled to find it.

Glad I could help. :)

I am trying to add a site-specific Google search to our blogs. I have followed the instructions given by others with no luck. The problem seems to be that Google doesn't know anything about my blog ie in Google 'rural site:ruralnet.typepad.com' returns: "Your search - rural site:ruralnet.typepad.com - did not match any documents." Help!

jeff

Simon,
I followed the instructions in this help doc:
http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2003/08/adding_google_s.html

with success, sorry I can't help more.
