China blocking Skype

Shenzhen is a manufacturing hub, so blocking skype is significant because of the volume of international communication that occurs in that region. As of last night my wife was still able to use Skype to talk with her factories.

UPDATE: exchanged some emails with Matt on this, it appears that China is blocking skypeOut only and not the VoIM calls.

China's largest fixed-line phone carrier recently began blocking access to service from Skype Technologies SA, a European-based Internet telecoms services provider, in the affluent southern city of Shenzhen near Hong Kong, according to the reports, including one in the Shanghai Daily.
