SiliconBeat: We made a list!

Congratulations to Mike and Matt on the recognition they are getting for creating a blog that continues to enjoy "daily read" status in my blogroll. Having said that, I'll now say that lists and ratings suck because they fail to measure influence, and Huffington's ascent to position #12 just goes to prove that you can link whore your way onto any list if you put your mind to it. Whether you are talking about lists that measure simple link counts or the more involved panel research that comScore usesd, it's all of little value in determining how effective a blogger is at engaging their constituents. The only thing I find more disagreeable than blog ratings is the notion that there are "A-list" bloggers.

(Political aside: Interesting to note how close conservative blogger Michelle Malkin and liberal blogger Arianna Huffington are on this list, #10 and #12 respectively. There's no competition there, no sirrree.)
