Neil Gershenfeld

Dr. Gershenfeld spoke at a dinner we hosted last night at the Tech History Museum. Usually these dinner speakers are pretty dry and if not for the booze you drank before and during dinner they would be unbearable. Not Gershenfeld, he's a passionate and animated speaker who uses video clips and other aids to deliver his message... that the ability to manufacture complex products is coming to the desktop and the potential for undeveloped regions of the world is just as great as the developed. I highly recomend you read his new book, FAB.

SAP got him for their dinner because he signed up for the Future Salon in the first place. There will also be a webcast and an IRC chat session for all of you that you are not in the Bay Area.

See you there, Mark.
