- this Goldman Sachs RFID update has some interesting updates about the state of the RFID market.
- Available here are the online versions of the EPC Global presentations.
- Google has a desktop search beta out, it was only a matter of time before they came out with a utility for searching your own PC.
- the Yankees and the Red Sox are playing another playoff series and I don't care.
- SCO is badly losing the PR war these days, so what do they plan to do about it? Setup a website and use it to promote their extortion attempts legal case(s). As if getting legal docs out is the problem they are having. As an aside, one of my partners was at ETRA and saw McBride's speech... not impressed at all was her reaction, not only that but she suggested that his bulldog demeanor is offensive.
- FDA approves RFID chips in humans. I don't see what the big deal is, pet owners have been doing this for years.
- Cingular says that they will use Wifi to supplement cellular networks. The only problem I see is that the standards for handovers are not finalized, the IP infrastructure are tightly coupled to the cellular radio networks, and there's only 2 quad band handsets shipping for the immediate future.
- this podcasting trend really caught me by surprise.
UPDATE: More podcasting stuff, this page has a number of good links.
- Vivotech! That's the company featured in the monster.com radio spots! I guess they are doing something around mobile commerce with Mastercard. I guess they were able to hire people through Monster.com after all.
- Dell has some nice new plasmas and LCDs out.

Jeff,
This is regarding RFID for humans.
Pets and humans are different. Some people have mice as pets, and the Roche building next door to the Labs campus in Palo Alto has tons of rats which are used for research.
But humans are different. Tagging humans seems like one of those Arnie movie come true. Heck, him being governator is odd enuff, his sci-fi visions becoming a reality ... boy that's a tough one to digest.
Anyways... your posts are a great recap of happenings around the world

good point, an additional observation relating to humans and animals is that our society tends to treat animals with higher regard than our fellow humans.
The new animal shelter that just opened in San Jose is a lot nicer than the homeless shelters.
