- The tiny island nation of Malta (I mean TINY, it's only 11 miles long) is getting a second submarine cable linking them to Sicily. The 2.5 gig cable, upgradable to 1 terabyte, will be essential to bolstering the data infrastructure for Malta burgeoning IT industry... in other words, online gambling.
